This interior design for a private villa in La Zagaleta, Benahavís, brings a double-height living room, private lounges, a bedroom suite, dressing rooms and an indoor pool into one connected scheme. VAN GOOD DESIGN uses pale stone, warm wood and curved seating to relate the shared spaces to quieter rooms. This case presents design visualisations, with the villa’s architectural design shown in the linked project. The 2,600 m² figure refers to the entire villa across three levels; it is not a separate measurement of the interior commission.
CONCEPT
The design balances the openness of the main living room with the comfort of smaller rooms. Curved sofas form seating groups within the double-height space, while the suspended chandelier gives the composition a focal point. Deeper wood tones and layered lighting distinguish the private lounges and bar. In the bedroom and dressing areas, timber surfaces, neutral textiles and integrated storage continue the palette at a more intimate scale. Daylight, views towards planted courtyards and illuminated shelving connect these different settings without making every room feel the same.
DETAILS
Living and arrival: The main living room is organised around curved sofas beneath a sculptural suspended chandelier. Tall glazing and a view of the upper gallery emphasise the room's height. At the entrance, artwork and planted courtyards make the arrival sequence part of the interior experience.
Lounges and bar: More intimate seating areas use deeper wood tones, warm upholstery and layered lighting. A bar with illuminated wine displays creates a setting for entertaining, while the family lounge brings softer seating together around a media wall.
Bedroom and dressing rooms: The bedroom pairs a timber headboard with soft neutral textiles and a separate sitting area. Glass-fronted wardrobes, central storage islands and illuminated accessory displays give the dressing spaces a clear order, with finishes that continue the wider interior palette.
Indoor pool: Pale stone surfaces and a slatted ceiling frame the water. Perimeter lighting follows the room's geometry, while glazing maintains a visual connection with the garden. The pool is conceived as a calm counterpart to the villa's social spaces.
